Monster Me (depression)

Monster in Me

I can't describe
the monster who hides inside
that lives by my side
when panic arrives

depression and fear
salute near
heartbeat and pain
my lonely friend

how to beat
the dragon so fierce
whose fire destroys
my stability and dreams

I count the ways
he beats and attacks
numerous times
before I return back

gray

gray

when skies turn gray
just as a dull smile
eyes crack sad nights
anxiety cries crawl

a new day awaits
the tormented lives
flushing scars
hidden inside

all drowns deep
as dreams we keep
for there is more to seek
the awaken cry ..
